Animal Squad is registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, number 1217420

It all started a few years ago when Squad Leader, Carly Ward discovered the terrible suffering of Moon Bears in China and Vietnam.  She did some fundraising events for Animals Asia who rescue these bears but wanted to do so much more.  With any project like Animal Squad, you have to start small hence we are launching in England and Wales first before covering Scotland and Northern Ireland and there are ambitious plans to expand globally.  But first things first!

It was when her beloved childhood dog passed over the rainbow bridge that she needed to replace the lost love with another dog but couldn’t bring herself to take in a new pet straight away. So she decided to foster a dog from the RSPCA.  They matched her with a dog they thought would be suitable, she had no input in the selection.  It was love at first site and after a year of fostering she adopted.  Bear joined the family permanently and has been Carly’s rock ever since.  The resemblance to a Moon Bear is uncanny don’t you think?!  This was definitely confirmation that she needed to do something drastic in the world of animal welfare and the idea of Animal Squad started to grow.
